BEACHWOOD, Ohio — Trespassing: Cedar Road

At 6:40 p.m. Nov. 10, police saw a drunk man pulling on car door handles in the parking lot of Beachwood Place mall, 26300 Cedar Road. The man was sent on his way and told to stay away, but he soon returned. As police arrested the man for trespassing, he struggled with police, causing an officer to suffer knee and leg injuries.

In addition to trespassing, police charged the man, 22, of South Euclid, with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

Carrying a concealed weapon: Cedar Road

At 12:45 a.m. Nov. 10, an officer stopped a car that was driven through a red light. It was discovered that the driver, a Cleveland man, 26, was intoxicated and in possession of a gun.

Police charged the man with OVI; refusing to take a breath test with a previous OVI conviction on his record; felony carrying a concealed weapon; child endangering; and driving with a suspended license.

Theft: Cedar Road

At 2:45 p.m. Nov. 11, police arrested a Wadsworth woman, 32, for stealing goods, clothing and underwear, worth a total of $263 from Dillard’s at Beachwood Place. In addition, the woman was charged with trespassing, as she had been banned from the mall for a previous theft arrest.

Warrant arrest: Cedar Road

At 4:10 p.m. Nov. 12, police checked the license plates on cars parked at Beachwood Place and found one owned by a man wanted on a Cleveland police warrant for felonious assault. When the Cleveland man, 22, returned to his car, he was arrested on the warrant.

OVI: Chagrin Boulevard

At 1 a.m. Nov. 13, an officer stopped a car for its slow rate of speed and learned that the driver, a Shaker Heights man, 40, was intoxicated. Police arrested and charged the man with OVI, having a blood-alcohol content greater than .08, and driving at slow speed.

Disturbance: South Woodland Road

At 10:25 p.m. Nov. 13, police were called to Canterbury Golf Club, 22000 S. Woodland Road, where two male employees, 26 and 28, of Cleveland, had been engaged in a fight. Police broke up the fight. No one was charged.

Drug possession: Shaker Boulevard

At 12:55 a.m. Nov. 14, an officer stopped a driver for not displaying a license plate on his car. The man, 45, of Cleveland, was found to have a suspended license. In his car, police found suspected amphetamines, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

The man was cited for the suspended license. Further charges could be coming after results of lab tests on the drugs are known.

Also in the car, but not charged, was a Cleveland man, 21.

Disorderly conduct: Cedar Road

At 8:55 p.m. Nov. 15, police were called to the Beachwood Place lot, where a woman, 19, of Cleveland, was creating a disturbance. The woman’s boyfriend, 19, of Euclid, said the woman had a manic episode while in his car. The man further stated his belief that the woman has undiagnosed mental health issues.

The woman would not comply with police orders and walked away from officers as they spoke to her. Police charged the woman with disorderly conduct and took her to Ahuja Medical Center for evaluation.
