With the arrival of holiday markets and the Southern Christmas Show, Christmas is quickly making its way to Charlotte. Before you finalize your plans and shopping lists, you may want to spend an afternoon — or evening — at one of these holiday events that are great for shopping and holiday cheer.
Whether you plan to shop local, buy a gift card to a Charlotte restaurant, or give an experience this year, checking out one of these Christmas events in Charlotte may be another way for you to find the perfect gift for your loved one.
Charlotte Christmas Village
Location: 324 S Mint St, Charlotte, NC 28202
Neighborhood: Uptown
What to know: The Christmas Village and Light the Knights Presented by Truist team up again to bring the Queen City some holiday cheer. The event will offer unique shopping and a European menu that includes strudel, bratwurst, schnitzel, hot cider and more.
When: Nov. 24-Dec. 23.
Price: The Holiday Wonder Season Pass is $35. The Christmas Village is a day and night event, and admission is $5. Light the Knights admission is $10. You can purchase tickets for either — or both — events online.
Hot Stuff Holiday Market
Location: 1919 Commonwealth Ave, Charlotte, NC 28205
Neighborhood: Plaza Midwood
What to know: Petra’s is hosting the Hot Stuff Holiday Market. The holiday-edition pop up returns with local crafts, food and holiday spirit.
When: Nov. 28 from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Price: Free admission
Merry Midtown
Location: 1111 Metropolitan Ave, Charlotte, NC 28204
Neighborhood: Cherry
What to know: Merry Midtown returns to the Metropolitan with various activities throughout the event. VTGCLT Pop (details below) and Letters to Santa are available. The Holiday Market is Dec. 4, Photos with Santa is Dec. 11 and Grinchmas is Dec.18.
When: Nov. 12-Dec. 22. Hours are 1 to 4 p.m.
Price: Free admission
Mistletoe Market
Location: 300 Camp Rd, Charlotte, NC 28206
Neighborhood: Druid Hills South
What to know: Mistletoe Market at Camp North End returns with more than 25 vendors. Holiday decor transforms the area into a winter wonderland with colorful Christmas tree displays, holiday photos, live music, holiday movies, and more. More details via our Instagram post.
When: Dec. 4, 11, and 18 from 4 to 8 p.m.
Price: Free admission
Southern Christmas Show
Location: 2500 E Independence Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28205
Neighborhood: Coliseum Drive/Commonwealth Park
What to know: It’s the largest holiday show in the country. “A Sweet Christmas” is this year’s theme. The event will be held at The Park Expo and Conference Center.
When: Nov. 11-Nov. 21; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., from Sunday through Wednesday, and from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday through Saturday.
Price: If you pay at the door, it’s $15 for adults and $5 for children ages 6 to 12. Admission is free for ages 5 and under. You can buy tickets online for $13, or if you have a VIC card, you can buy tickets at Harris Teeter for $12.50.
Vintage Market Days of Charlotte
Location: 4751 NC Highway 49 North, Concord, NC 28025
Neighborhood: Concord
What to know: The vintage inspired indoor market features original art, antiques, clothing, home decor, outdoor furnishings and more. Vendors from across the country will be present as visitors enjoy shopping, food, and live music. The event will be held at Cabarrus Arena.
When: Dec. 3 through Sunday, Dec. 5. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The early buying event is Friday. General admission is Saturday and Sunday.
Price: The early buying event is $15. The price is $10 on general admission days. Admission for children under 12 is free. Once purchased, you can enter the event all weekend. You can buy tickets online or at the door.
VTGCLT Pop
Location: 1100 Metropolitan Ave #160, Charlotte, NC 28204 (former West Elm)
Neighborhood: The Metropolitan, Midtown Charlotte
What to know: VTGCLT Pop features vintage gifts from more than 90 local and regional artists.
When: Nov. 12 through Dec. 10 on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, then daily until Dec. 22. Hours are 10 a.m.-7 p.m.
Price: Free admission
