Framed inside her studio is the dress that Hannah Nodskov said put her business, Hannah Caroline Couture,on the map. “It was a total whirlwind,” Nodskov said. “Thankfully, I had something on hand and it was the perfect size.” Three days before the Emmy’s, the bridal designer got a call from a designer in LA needing a plus-sized gown for a client and fast. “‘Do you have anything and the catch is I need you to overnight it tomorrow,'” Nodskov said. Nodskov did. She overnighted her black Barbera gown. “It was worn by Leila Cohen-Miccio. She is a writer and executive producer for Bridgerton on Netflix,” Nodskov said. Nodskov said she’s been waiting for a moment like this. She started her fashion journey back in 2013. Back then she made clothes for herself. “It is really hard to scroll through Pinterest and not see anybody who looks like you,” Nodskov said. In 2015, she transformed her brand into a bridal designer. She even made her own wedding gown. Nodskov said her focus is to make sure plus-sized and alternative brides feel beautiful on their wedding day. “This is where I’m really needed and this is where I am passionate,” Nodskov said. Nodskov has a full-time job in marketing so she spends many late nights sewing in her studio. After getting to see her dress on the red carpet she said the hard work is finally paying off. “It was just super validating of everything that I’ve been doing, especially for it to be worn by a plus-sized creative in LA was just another reassurance I’m doing the right thing,” Nodskov said. Nodskov’s dress even made it on some of the best dress lists from fashion critics.
