Paramus mall opens COVID vaccine megasite

A new COVID-19 vaccine megasite opened in Paramus on Wednesday, intended to eliminate any barriers

A new COVID-19 vaccine megasite opened in Paramus on Wednesday, intended to eliminate any barriers for children or adults to get vaccinated or boosted.

Hackensack Meridian Health opened the vaccination site — one of four new locations in the region — at the former Lord & Taylor store off Route 17 in the Fashion Center.

“We are proud to work with the New Jersey Department of Health and the New Jersey State Police to create greater opportunities for people to get vaccinated,’’ said Robert C. Garrett, chief executive officer of Hackensack Meridian Health. “As we approach the two-year anniversary of the COVID-19 pandemic, we know that vaccination is a powerful weapon to save lives globally.’’

Hackensack Meridian Health has opened a new megasite for vaccination only at the former Lord & Taylor store off Route 17 in Paramus.

Paramus and new locations in Somerset, Burlington and Gloucester counties were set up in coordination with the state Health Department and the state police.

The new vaccination site opened on the same day that all New Jersey health care workers were told they must get fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and have booster shots or face termination under an order by Gov. Phil Murphy
