REINEREN Kicks Off Shanghai Fashion Week With ‘Summer Escape’ SS22 Collection

Independent fashion brand REINEREN kicks off the Shanghai Fashion Week with an impressive runway show, unveiling the newest Spring/Summer 2022 collection appropriately named “Summer Escape”.

Inspired by the inner characteristics of urban youth nowadays whilst acknowledging their every-lingering feeling of loneliness and longing for simple pleasures in life, REINEREN’s SS22 collection continues the brand’s modern aesthetics with a carefree, nonchalant attitude.

Addressing that the notion of being “busy” has evolved into a sense of normality in the lives of modern young people, this season, REINEREN utilizes and blends a color palette of ocean blue, faded green, metallics and multi-elements of black with an aim to showcase a brighter future with lessened social pressure.

After finishing her studies at Massey University in New Zealand, REINEREN’s designer Qian Ren went to ESMOD in Paris to further her knowledge and professional skillsets. Through focusing on exquisite tailoring and craftsmanship, Ren continues to gain international recognition through her unique take on fashion aesthetic and philosophy.

For the new collection, Ren found inspiration in the breezy and cheerful island living surrounded by the endless sea, and various elements of the show all link back to the mysterious beauty of the marine life. The REINEREN girls stepped out on black sand, dressed in stylish pieces featuring details including fishnets, boat ropes, and washed denim.

Asymmetrical and one shoulder design is a notable feature in the new collection, together with the contrast between loose-fitting, oversized silhouettes and skintight cuts with perforated details.

While staying true to the brand’s signature use of sleek leathers and metal, REINEREN finds an innovative and vivid new design direction that seeks to inspire freedom and spontaneity.

The new season also focuses on sustainability, with the use of lyocell fibre incorporated in the process of design and production. Manufactured in Sateri, lyocell fibre is made from certified plantations with a closed production process that is environmentally friendly.
