Where are Brian Laundrie’s clothes? Internet sleuths question discovery of remains

Internet sleuths are wondering what happened to the clothes and boots Brian Laundrie was supposedly

Internet sleuths are wondering what happened to the clothes and boots Brian Laundrie was supposedly wearing the day he entered the Carlton Nature Reserve for a hike. This comes as many have cast doubts on recent developments surrounding the 23-year-old’s disappearance and death.

Laundrie’s decomposed body was located on Wednesday, October 20, in the Carlton Nature Reserve, where his parents said he had gone hiking. Steven Bertolino, the lawyer representing the Laundries, revealed that the body was sent to an anthropologist for further examination after an autopsy was unable to provide a cause or manner of death. The deceased fugitive was the sole “person of interest” in the murder of his fiancee Gabrielle Petito.

Four questions facing Brian Laundrie’s parents after discovery of his remains

Social media was inundated with questions about Laundrie’s clothes and whether they were collected as evidence. “Question: If Brian Laundrie killed himself where are the clothes he had on?” one asked. “Exactly !!! where are his socks? His boxers? His top? His trousers? & his shoes?” another added.

“Plz ask if clothes or shoes were found for #BrianLaundrie or did he go to reserve NAKED? He had to be wearing some clothes & shoes not just toting a backpack!” yet another wrote. “Interesting a paper notebook supposedly submerged for up to 5 weeks is found intact but not one small piece of fabric or clothing…” a comment read.

“So they found some bones, but not one article of clothing, boots, etc but a notebook, etc? There has to be more out there. #brianlaundrie,” one offered. “Does anyone know if the clothes found were intact & undamaged like he took them off or were they torn up?” another chimed in.

FBI agents identified “partial remains” found in the reserve as belonging to Laundrie on October 21 after a weeks-long manhunt for the fugitive. Web sleuths have been speculating what could have transpired after an autopsy couldn’t establish a conclusive cause or manner of death. One Twitter user said she found “bones” around 60 yards from where Laundrie’s remains were reportedly found. While the Twitter user uploaded several snaps of her discovery, she also noted they “could be animal.”

“Definitely gator,” one responded. “They have those long spike extrusions on spoke bones. I feel when the water levels rose, Gators migrated to him and then went back out father as the water receded.”

“Totally animal. Google. Not every bone is going to be a human. They have reptiles, bears, deer, etc. It’s a nature reserve of massive acreage. The FBI cleared the scene,” a user added.

“As a Medical Assistant those are NOT human bones,” another asserted.

Meanwhile, Instagram users scouring Petito’s profile found a January 11 post showing her posing for a mirror selfie with the caption, “Been listening to the morbid podcast all morning, and I’m obsessed @morbidpodcast.” The caption also features a knife emoticon as Petito states how she misses Charleston, South Carolina, and her godmother Flora Rocco. The post has nearly 8,000 likes at the time of writing, with several observers speculating whether the tragic vlogger, 22, was trying to say something.

“Maybe morbid podcasts as in listening to him speak and say morbid things??” one wondered.

“Only pics she has with him in it the captions are always spaced in the writing,” another offered.

“Woah…do you think she’s been trying to say something since this post?!” a comment read.
